Hit arena show Walking with Dinosaurs is coming home for another tour after being seen by more than eight million people around the world
The monster production from entertainment giants Global Creatures — makers of the King Kong musical and How To Train Your Dragon arena show — will begin a six-city tour from March 18 kicking off in Sydney.
Walking with Dinosaurs began its remarkable journey in 2007, wowing audiences with 20 life-size dinosaurs and scenery that seemed more real than anything previously created.
The all-ages show has since been updated to keep pace with technological advances and recent discoveries about the physicality of dinosaurs.
Global Creatures chief Carmen Pavlovic said she was thrilled to be bringing it back to where the journey began.
“A new generation is ready to experience these life-size beasts in this awe-inspiring spectacle,” she said.
“Many of the creatures have evolved since the last tour and now feature distinctive display feathers, head crests and tail fans.”
Ten species of dinosaurs are represented in show, including the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Plateosaurus, Stegosaurus, Allosaurus and Torosaurus. The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus, is 11m tall and 17m from nose to tail.
It took a team of 50 people to build the production, including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists and animatronic experts.
Tickets on sale through Ticketek.
